FAQs

employees

Companies that partner with LaborWorks often hire our employees for full-time or permanent positions. To maximize your chances of getting hired as a full-time employee, we recommend the following:

Show Respect
When you’re at the jobsite, be respectful of your co-workers and mindful of the company equipment.

Communicate
When you get a job, you can demonstrate your dedication to the employer by meeting with your supervisor to ask questions and review the job’s rules, objectives, and goals. If you enjoy your position, communicate this with your supervisor to let them know you are looking for full-time work.

Prepare
Preparation begins at home with a good night’s sleep to improve your safety, alertness, and effectiveness at the jobsite. Remember to bring a lunch and positive attitude, and you will be better prepared to pursue full-time employment.

Work Hard
Employers notice hard workers. The more productive you are, the more likely that you will be requested back to the jobsite.

LaborWorks fills positions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Posted hours on Saturday are from 6am to 10am.  LaborWorks is closed on Sunday but several employers do have opportunities for Sunday employment.

Pay starts at or above minimum wage, depending on your skillset and the specific job.

LaborWorks pays workers at the end of each workday when they return to the office. The exception is Sunday when the office is closed. Payment is given in the form of a personal paycard (‘smart debit card’), which allows you to withdraw cash at any ATM. You can also use the card to purchase items from stores.

LaborWorks does not require that you have a driver’s license, and most job sites are on public transportation routes. Though some jobs will require a driver’s license due to the specific nature of the position, many jobs have no such requirement.

LaborWorks complies with all federal and state employment laws. You can find work with us if you are a lawful permanent resident, or if you are legally authorized to work with a Green Card, visa, or other type of work authorization.

To find work through LaborWorks, visit us in person at a location near you in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado and Texas. You’ll start with the application process, which you can do at the branch or online at: jobs.laborworks.com/apply/

Once that process is complete and you’re approved, you’ll be ready to start work!  As a new candidate, please expect the process to take 30-45 minutes.

Harness the potential and productivity of your temporary workers by doing the following:

Plan
Prepare for your temporary employees by discussing your staffing needs with the departments they will be supporting. Ask your other employees for suggestions about how and where temporary employees can be best utilized.

Communicate
Let your employees know why you are hiring temporary employees and the tasks they will perform. Your employees should be excited for the temporary help!

Prepare
Before your temporary workers arrive, allocate the workspace, tools, and equipment they will use on the job. We also recommend assigning a current employee to meet the worker(s) at the door and introduce them to their supervisor.

Create Goals
Be clear with your expectations. Set your temporary workers up for success by describing exactly what they will be doing and the specifics of their task(s).

Provide Incentives
If you are utilizing temporary workers as a means to find potential employees, we encourage you to inform them of this to help encourage a higher performance in your temporary workers.

We provide the right workers—right away. Typically, LaborWorks can send temporary workers within one hour of your initial contact!

It’s simple—LaborWorks does the hard work for you. Not only is our temporary staffing a cost-effective alternative for hiring employees, but our service also includes handling all employer burdens so that you can focus on achieving success and pursuing your company’s mission.

LaborWorks makes the process stress-free by taking care of taxes, unemployment insurance, Workers’ Compensation, and daily wages. We also handle W-2 forms, prevailing wage reports, wage garnishments, reference checks, background screening, drug testing, and safety training.

Employers are encouraged to utilize our workers for temporary-to-permanent positions as well. Hiring our workers into permanent positions does not cost a fee or commission. We just require a minimum of 320 hours on the job—that’s it!
