In-depth study by CareerBuilder indicates strong growth for temporary staffing in 2016 and beyond

LaborWorks believes that temporary staffing fills a crucial need for the employer and the worker. It allows the employer to get the job done, while providing the worker with the experience he or she needs to grow their career.
This message is coming through loud and clear in the marketplace, as temporary staffing reportedly grew in 2015, and projections indicate that it will continue to increase in 2016. While this news would come as no surprise if it were 2009 or 2010 at the height of the recession, the fact that temporary staffing remains so prevalent is incredibly indicative of its enduring benefits.
According to a report by CareerBuilder, “nearly 3 million people are employed in temporary jobs today, and new analysis shows that number will continue to rise…temporary employment is expected to grow 13 percent (354,877 jobs) from 2014 to 2019.”
In 2016 alone, we can expect to see a 5% growth, according to the study. Larger growth will be seen in several sectors by 2019, such as construction (13%), maintenance and repair (14%), retail sales (14%), and administrative/secretarial work (13%).
The study went on to state that two in five U.S. employers expect to hire temporary or contract workers this year. Temporary staffing firms, such as LaborWorks, will continue to provide these crucial opportunities for workers who want to explore different careers, while providing employers with the labor force they need to head successfully into 2016 and beyond.
